Added 12 New Blogs Today - September 24, 2006 (10:07 PM EST)
After ignoring the site for a while, I just did some fixes and added about twelve new blogs. Those that requested to be added but weren't, were primarily either recipe blogs or local restaurant review blogs (or weren't in English). We did a poll a while ago, and the 'no recipe blogs' beat out the 'yeah recipe blogs' by a nose. Anyway, thanks again to everyone that visits 360eats and to all the bloggers that fuel it.

Downtime! - February 12, 2006 (11:55 PM EST)
Sorry folks, the site was down for a week there while my host tries to get a handle on what server we are going to live on (did I mention that the site is hosted for free by a friend of mine?). We may need another downtime shortly, lets hope it goes quicker this time. Thanks for your patience.

I added several new blogs to the line up today. Thanks for all the suggestions. If yours didn't make the cut, don't be sad, it's most likely because I haven't gotten to it yet or your site seemed to be mainly recipes (see voting on the right hand side and the forums for more info).

Should we add recipe blogs to 360eats? - December 10, 2005 (6:35 PM EST)
I have been getting a lot of request from folks that run blogs that focus primarily on recipes. When I started 360eats I had thought I didn't want to aggregate any blogs like this. But, now I'm curious what you folks think.
Also, I added a sort of smart filter that tries to mark messages that are recipes as such. So this will help visually differentiate between them.
Let me know your thoughts, discuss in the forums area of the site or answer my poll on the right hand side.

New Features - November 20, 2005 (11:05 AM EST)
I added some new features to 360eats.com this weekend. First up is Forums, which you can use to talk about whatever you would like (hopefully food related). We can also discuss new blogs to be aggregated (pro's and con's). I added a "smart" tagger that marks all posts that seem to be recipes as such. Finally I added a News section, which will just show 360eats news items (like this post). Another Note - November 12, 2005 (4:33 PM EST)
On a down note, again something is wrong with our server. This time its affecting the mail sending feature of the site. It is a known issue with the server software we use, so we are hoping for a fix soon. The bottom line is, if you have tried to use the forms on the About Us link and they have taken forever or failed... please try again. Sorry about that.

360eats New Features - November 12, 2005 (4:27 PM EST)
360eats.com is doing a slow roll out of our latest feature "Ratings and Views" today. Until we are positive that it doesn't explode the site, the feature will only be available on the search and archives pages. We're pretty proud of it, so check it out, you can rate posts and also see how many times they have been viewed so far. If nothing breaks they will be moved to the main page soon. Obviously the next thing that needs to be done is some kind of sort by ratings or views page, so stay tuned f...

Google Site Search Added - October 28, 2005 (8:20 PM EST)
Just a quick note: I added the ability to use Google to search for info on the site. Actual site search (hitting our database instead of the Google cache) is still coming very soon (perhaps this weekend).

Algorithm Update - October 24, 2005 (7:02 PM EST)
Today I completely redid the way the aggregator works, up until now there has been no database involved, just xml files. Now, I should be able to add new features like archives and searching very quickly. But, In the mean time, there may be problems since I really haven't tested this update very much. Greetings from 360eats.com! Hope everyone is enjoying our little food blog aggregator, thanks to the Accidental Hedonist, Nik Eats, and Super Chef Blog for posting links back to us. As of yet the aggregator is getting about 50 visits a day. I guess that's not bad for only being online for a week. Anyway, hopefully as the word gets out we'll see traffic go up.
